Washington-area vegans, put down that bagel with Tofutti schmear. It’s best you skip breakfast to make room for the oodles of tempting fare on the menu at VegFest Seattle.

The annual event runs today and tomorrow, and features more than 200 companies dishing out food samples, plus cooking demos from chefs all over the country, nutritional advice, free health checks and more.

They’ll also be selling books and recipe guides galore, including Vegetarians of Washington’s latest: Say No to Meat! The 411 on Ditching Meat and Going VegThe Veg-Feasting Cookbook; and The Vegetarian Solution, among others.

There’ll be a whole host of doctors on site, discussion nutrition, plus cooking demos by Miyoko Schinner of Miyoko’s Kitchen; Chat MingKwan, author of Buddha’s Table; and Bianca Phillips, author of Cookin’ Crunk, among others.

Should you decide to join Vegetarians of Washington at the event, you’ll also score a free deluxe tote bag packed with free food and coupons.
