Humans have been chewing gum for several thousands of years. The original incarnation, however, was nothing more than chicle (basically, tree sap).

Today’s chewable options, however, tend to feature a lot of chemical ingredients, artificial flavors, and even (in some brands) animal products.

Simply Gum is something new. The company has a line of all-natural chewing gums made with nothing more than chicle, organic dried cane juice, organic vegetable glycerin, organic sunflower lecithin, organic rice flour and various flavorings (all natural of course).

The company’s vegan gum flavors include cinnamon, mint, ginger, fennel, maple, and coffee. Simply Gum launched in January 2014, and continues to grow. They’re available in Whole Foods, Sprouts, Lolli and Pops, Williams-Sonoma and are rolling out to more grocers.

“We are launching in new Whole Foods regions including SoCal and Rocky Mountain,” Adeena Cohen of Simply Gum tells Latest Vegan News.

“We’ve received an overwhelming response from consumers and stores alike,” Cohen says of the brand’s trajectory thus far. “Many people are thrilled to see a product like this on the market, and they have confessed that they had stopped chewing traditional gum because of its contents. People are excited to finally have an option for gum that they can feel good about.”
