If there’s one thing that stands out about 2019, it’s that we’re living in the golden age of plant-based burgers.

And in keeping with that trend, popular chain Umami Burger has announced that every burger on its mouthwatering menu can now be made vegan.

Plus, the whole lineup has been updated and includes new vegan items. SCORE!

Umami specializes in gourmet burger creations and has 18 U.S. locations in California, Illinois (Chicago), and New York, plus international locations in Japan, the Bahamas, and Mexico.

The new vegan menu items including shareable cauliflower bites and a cookies and cream milkshake made with cashew milk ice cream and chocolate cookies (YUM).

Umami offers a wide array of burgers that can now be veganized including the Cali burger, the truffle burger, the throwback burger, and the plain and simple burger. Also, the oohmami sauce and the Umami dust will always be vegan moving forward. Woo!

The man behind the revamp is Umami’s Chief Operating Officer (winner of James Beard Foundation’s Rising Star Chef award and Food Network regular) Nate Appleman.

“Making the menu more vegan friendly is a way to be more inclusive to anyone that dines at Umami,” Appleman said. “When Umami started there was a strict ‘no substitution’ policy. I don’t believe in that non-hospitable way of thinking. But also, we are living at a time where we no longer have to make sacrifices in terms of quality to offer something that is vegan. Every day, higher quality ingredients are becoming more widely available and we are adding them to our restaurants.”

The company initially rolled out the Impossible burger in 2017, starting with its Southern California locations. It was the first multiple location restaurant group to feature the meatless burger, and clearly it’s been a hit!

This plant-based burger revolution just keeps getting better and better. πŸ” Beef is so 2008 you guys.
