While known primarily for its popular non-dairy cheese products, Daiya is full of surprises. The brand recently launched a line of critically acclaimed cheesecakes, several flavors of cheesy mac, and now, an assortment of Greek-style yogurt.
The new items are scheduled to hit select store shelves later this month. The dairy-free yogurt comes in four flavors, blueberry, peach, strawberry and black cherry, and each serving offers eight grams of protein. They’re also gluten-free and soy-free, and made with ingredients including coconut cream and pea protein.
The company also offers a line of cream cheese-style spreads, multiple varieties of vegan cheeses (both shredded, sliced and in blocks) and six pizzas (one of which uses Beyond Meat as a topping).
Initially, the dairy-free yogurt will be available at King Soopers, Sprouts, Earth Fare, Natural Grocers and various independent retailers, the company tells Latest Vegan News.
Start looking for them in late July of 2015!

Do we know for sure this will be vegan? I only ask because Silk's "dairy free" yogurt isn't
Hi Natalie,
Yep, per Daiya, the yogurts are 100% vegan. :)
Sadly mistaken I just ate 2 of them and then read the ingredients and found it not vegan because it contains L.casei.
Hi Valerie, the yogurts are vegan. L casei is a bacteria -- not the same as casein, and not milk derived. From Daiya's site: "All Daiya products are free of dairy, free of animal products and certified vegan."
Silk's is, they were basically just saying that they may process on shared equipment, but most people consider that vegan (even lots of vegan companies.)
Silk and So Delicious are owned by a huge dairy called Whitewave. Just mentioning in case you prefer not to support the dairy industry.
Not really supporting the dairy industry. Just giving them more reasons to transition.
what are the ingredients? thank you!
Here you go Katherine! This is from the strawberry yogurt, I believe.
The pea protein makes it a no go in out house as we have a nut/legume allergy as well as dairy and egg. :( and we love many other Daiya products.
It's got l.casei so it not vegan
This is from Silk's website:
All of our products and flavors are completely vegan except for the Baked Tofu Oriental style which contains honey. There are no animal derivatives in any of the other products or ingredients. The lactic acid and yogurt cultures used in our Silk Cultured Soy come from a vegetable source. The vitamins used in Silk Soymilk are derived from vegetable sources.
evidently southern california is surprisingly one of the last states to adding these wonderful daiya products to their shelves!!!!! very disappointing -- its my favorite brand of vegan products thus far. i can only find shredded cheese and cheddar slices as well as cream cheese. all other products are not found anywhere and when i question store managers they say they can't just order new products all the time.
That's really surprising Venus! Especially for Southern Cali. I think you can put in official product request forms at certain retailers though -- Whole Foods, for example. Might be worth a shot!
Is this available in Ontario?
Good question Amber! Not sure, but Daiya is based in Canada, so there's probably a good chance it is. :) I'd check out their website for details!
Daiya is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, on the beautiful west coast of Canada.
I love u daya lol...i cant wait for it
Where in Pittsburgh PA will it be carried?
Is your product available to buy in london.
I refuse to buy any products from Silk or So Delicious since they are both owned by Whitewave....a huge dairy!! I am looking forward to trying this yogurt!
Does anyone have the nutritional facts for the daiya greek yogurt? I have been looking for a non dairy yogurt that still has a decent amount of protein. The silk yogurt and the coconut milk yogurts only have 1-2 grams of protein and 30-36+ grams of carbs and the silk yogurt has 26 grams of sugar...at least the so delicious brand only has 8 - obviously not a good yogurt replacement in terms of nutritional value. I don't think I'm asking too much looking when wanting a low sugar, low carb, high protein, non dairy yogurt option... I am really hoping the daiya yogurt delivers :) If anyone has any knowledge of the nutritional facts and can share I would really appreciate it! None of the specialty stores in the surrounding Santa Barbara CA area carry it but they did offer to special order it for me, I just want to know what I am getting before I actually do that.
Thanks!!!
