Award-Winning Bakery Launches New Vegan Cafe in Miami

Whimsical, heart-adorned Bunnie Cakes bakery has been winning awards for its impossibly delicious vegan treats since it first opened in Miami, Florida, in 2013.

And now, the sweet spot has launched a brand new savory addition: Bunnie Cafe, an all-vegan breakfast and lunch destination!

The cafe’s extensive (and mouthwatering) menu includes heart empanadas in Mexican chorizo, black bean, and smoked sage ($3.50); daily soups including fun onion and no-bunnie harmed chili ($7); pizza rolls ($3.50); Cubano sammies with vegan cheese, cold cuts, pickles, and signature Cubano sauce ($8); a Bunnie burger with Beyond Meat and signature Bunnie pink sauce on a pretzel bun ($12); rainbow nachos ($12); milkshakes in vanilla funfetti, choco oreo, or strawberry ($8) and much more!

“I wanted to share all the wonderful ideas and recipes we use as vegans,” says Cortez. “We have been working on developing this menu for years and it’s finally here. am so happy and excited to share them with the community.”

The full lineup includes sandwiches, empanadas, soups, salads, burgers, hot dogs, pastas, desserts and more. (Click here to check out the full menu.) The cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. at 2322 NE 2nd Ave, Miami, Florida.

The Bunnie brand was created by all-star chef and entrepreneur Mariana Cortez. Cortez started making treats out of her home kitchen years ago when her son, Luke, was diagnosed with a dairy allergy.

Her colorful and allergy-friendly sweets became incredibly popular and led to an appearance on Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars,” followed by the opening of her flagship Bunnie Cakes location in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami.

The new cafe joins the nearby Bunnie Cakes Studio, where guests can decorate their own treats. And a second Bunnie Cakes location is scheduled to open in downtown Doral early next year.

If you’re in the area, the Bunnie locales are hosting several upcoming Thanksgiving-themed events, including decorating workshops and a Friendsgiving feast demo! (Tickets will be available at BunnieCakes.com.)
